
Molly Steenson, Contributing Editor
Molly Wright Steenson is a design researcher and architectural historian who studies interactivity and responsiveness in architecture and urbanism. She is pursuing a PhD in architecture at Princeton University. She also conducts research and develops design strategy for mobile, web, and urban projects and blogs at Active Social Plastic (activesocialplastic.com).
Molly cut her teeth on the Web in 1994, and in the last 15 years has worked with a variety of companies, including Intel, Microsoft, Nokia, Verizon, and Reuters. As a design researcher, she examines the intersection of the social, technological and spatial, such as how people in urban India share mobile phones and the impact of social networking technologies on friendship in urban China. Previously, Molly was a co-founder of the groundbreaking women's webzine, Maxi, in the late 90s. As an associate professor at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea in Italy, she led the Connected Communities research area and holds an Italian patent.
